Lyst til å studere joik ved Nord universitet på Levanger?

"Yoik as a starting point" at Nord University is a study developed by Frode Fjellheim and perhaps the only university study in the world where students get to work with yoik as a starting point for creating new music.

At the bottom of this is a solid introduction to yoik as a musical expression - and a basic introduction to Sami culture. Students can create their own yoiks, use elements from traditional yoik in new contexts and learn how Europe's oldest living music tradition can give you new musical ideas for your own music. the only university program in the world where students get to work with yoik as a starting point for creating new music.

Among previous students attending this course are artists, teachers, theater students, administrative employees in the cultural sector and of course music students who take this as part of their education as a musician or music teacher.

Det kreves ingen spesielle forkunnskaper – ut over generell studiekompetanse – men en fordel om du har holdt på med musikk i en eller annen form

About the study

The aims of the course are
– å befeste den sørsamisk joiken og dermed bidra til å legge et grunnlag for å bevare og å utvikle denne tradisjonen
– å skape arenaer der opplæring i joik og musikk med basis i joik kan komme til uttrykk.

The course program is divided into three sub-courses:
– Innføring i samisk kultur
– Musikkorientering og lytting
– Stilisering av elementer fra joik – nye sammenhenger

Professor Frode Fjellheim is academically responsible for the study.

Samlinger studieåret 2019/2020:

Alle samlinger torsdag ettermiddag (14:00 – 20:00) og fredag 09:00 – 15:00.
1. samling 17. – 18. oktober.
2. samling 7. – 8. november
3. samling 5. – 6. desember
4. samling 23. – 24. januar
5. samling (eksamen) 26. – 27. mars.
